#WhoAmI Here For?

Even the uninitiated among us has asked the question, “Who am I?”

A deeper question to ask is, “Who am I here for?”

You know you are ‘here’. You are seeking a purpose. What greater purpose can there possibly be than to be here for someone else. And don’t you need someone else to give your life purpose?

If you were all alone on this Earth, what worth would there be in modern day goals and ambitions? Surely you’d already be King or Queen of the world. No need to become a billionaire, or a trillionaire, it’s all yours.

Now what?

But people of infinite wealth still seek answers to the age old question of who they are. So, money can’t be the solution. Why do so many of them give it away? Is it perhaps that they realise that they didn’t take the time to enjoy the journey? Perhaps they overlooked the people along the way? The rungs of the ladder, the people they may have climbed over or upon to get where they were going.

What if we asked the question, “Who am I here for?”

Forget about where you came from, or why are you here, perhaps just touch that inner knowledge and ‘know’ you ‘are’ here and you are here with talents and knowledge that can be of use to all. Who could YOU help and touch with YOUR abilities?

In our modern times we are so focused on what we can get for ourselves, we often overlook the very simple things we can do to help all of those around us. A tiny gesture and have an amazing impact. Something you don’t use or want any more, could someone else benefit from it? Taking your focus off yourself can ease stress. It ALWAYS feels good to help someone in need, and we are ALL in need of help.

Perhaps today, you’ll join me in a new mantra, not what’s in it for me and why am I here, but instead:

“Why am I here for you?”

Rachel McAdams: Who Do You Love?

rachel-mcadams-gets-new-boyfriend (2)In such a PC world as this, do people still have ‘pin-up girls’? Can one even still use the word ‘pin-up girl’? I don’t know, and truthfully, I don’t care! I do, but I don’t. I think most people can relate to that, right?

I don’t actually know what a ‘pin-up girl’ really is! To me, a pin-up girl is someone that you admire, perhaps adore, look up to, aspire to be, or see something in them that you’d like to be like, have, or want.

We’ve been so confined, constricted, and constipated by being seen to ‘do and say the right thing’, but what is right and what is wrong?  Where are the true role models that can lead the way?

“The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is looking.”

John Wooden

My confession, if you hadn’t already guessed, my ‘pin-up girl’ is Rachel McAdams (did the photo give it away?) I don’t know that much about her, but from what I’ve seen, and what I feel, is that she’s a very grounded, normal, smart, attractive, and committed person. All traits I aspire to have! I think and dream of meeting her – and I’m certain I will – I don’t know how, but that’s not up to me! But I know when we meet it will be such a normal meeting, like old friends that knew each other years ago, but we mis-recognised each other!

For me, Rachel McAdams is the essence of who I feel I am meant to be with. I can’t make her love me, and I can’t love her without feeling her energy, but I’d like to. How on Earth are celebrities allowed to date? Isn’t our talent enough! We are not gods! Leave us alone! But we don’t want to be alone!!!

Golly! That was a big confession…

A-hem!

So, back on track… Who do YOU love? Have you started with loving yourself? Aren’t you good enough? You are. Give yourself a hug, or better still, give someone close to you a hug – now! Didn’t work? Perhaps your dream or ‘pin-up’ is as extreme as mine. Maybe you have to ask yourself, “What kind of a person do you have to become to attract them to you?”

Don’t Put People On Pedestals

There is only ONE person you should compare yourself to: The Person You Were Yesterday. The wonderful thing about this world is that everyone is equal: we were all born, we will all die, we all have choice… Ah! Here’s where the ‘rub’ comes…! In a year that SHOULD be celebrating equality, it should be celebrating WORLD PEACE.

IMAGINE if all the people in the world, just for one minute, (one second!) stopped thinking what they were thinking, stopped doing what they were doing, and actually contemplated WORLD PEACE, thought about happiness, thought about YOU being happy, thought about, “How do I want to feel LOVE?”

What would the world look like? Brandson knows… Elon knows… Warren knows… Gates knows… Facebook-bloke knows… Amazon-bloke knows…

Anthony and Rachel’s World

In OUR world, we live in abundance… and we share it!

I have enough, and you can have food…

I have more than enough, and you can have a proper education…

I have water, and you can have clean water…

I have love, and I am the world.

my_first_goalsettin_cover_for_kindleThe Essence of Goal-Setting
A step-by-step approach for moving from your status quo to your heart’s desire

By Mary Vinnedge
If most goal-setting and action plans seem overly complex and intimidating, read on. Motivational coach-author Anthony Donnelly distills the process into easy-to-understand steps in My First Goal-Setting Book: How to Effectively Set & Achieve Your Life Goals. Goal-setting might seem new to you, but Donnelly says in practice, you do it constantly: getting out of bed at 6:30, doing your laundry, etc. The trick is to be conscious and intentional with goal-setting. “If you’ve been waiting for your wishes and dreams to come true, but nothing’s happened so far, it’s most likely because you are leaving it up to chance,” he writes.
Begin by jotting down notes about what you want, possibly related to health, leisure, family, career, education, health and/or giving back. Be sure each is something you’re extremely passionate about. Passion is the fuel that drives every successful person, Donnelly says.
Also key: Zero in on a modest goal from your wants. For instance, if you’d like to launch a business, try selling online or persuading a merchant to give you a corner display rather than leasing a 15,000-square-foot building straightaway. If you want to run a marathon but have never done more than dash to your front door in the rain, aim for a 5K race (3.1 miles)―not a half-marathon (13.1 miles)―in two months.
A key early step in Donnelly’s strategy is the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) planning tool outlined by Albert Humphrey in the 1960s. Divide a blank sheet of paper into SWOT quadrants and fill them in honestly and without rushing. Your strengths might include technical skills and tenacity. Perhaps weaknesses are impatience or shortage of money. Opportunities? Maybe a trade show or a mentor offering help. Threats could be competitors or a recession. Donnelly explains that this exercise forces you to think deeply and long-term, revealing problems to fix or avoid.
Now develop your goal statement based on SMART―aka Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound―guidelines. Don’t just write, “I want to quit my day job and be a solopreneur.” Instead be precise about your quest, establish a metric (perhaps a startup treasury plus emergency fund total), make sure it’s realistic (honest assessment), be certain the goal suits you (do you see yourself still reveling in this achievement well into the future?), and determine a deadline, something like “I will raise $15,000 and quit my job to do XXXX by next Dec. 31.” Type or write it out, and read it to yourself aloud for a positive affirmation.
Also write down five reasons why your goal matters. An example for an aspiring personal trainer: “I feel great about helping others become fit.” Incorporate the reasons into a paragraph that starts, “The reason this is important to me is…” Read this reasons statement silently and aloud. If you don’t feel thrilled about the five-point summary, put your paper aside, perhaps overnight, Donnelly says. Then revise the statement until it feels empowering. Add it below your SMART goal statement, and read these statements at least twice every day, aloud if possible. Doing so at bedtime is especially beneficial as your brain will mull them as you rest and provide you with fresh insights after you awaken.
Of course, the best plan in the world means nothing unless you act.
The next step in Donnelly’s process is the creation of action items and intermediate goals. Referring to that $15,000 needed by Dec. 31, state what needs to happen after nine months (savings of, say, $12,000), six months, three months, two months and one month. Write out these interim goals and deadlines and track your achievements. Personal-development experts emphasize the importance of celebrating each milestone with a reward such as a new book, massage or special coffee drink.
As you push forward, write weekly goals and focus on each while also visualizing the big picture, that final goal. Donnelly considers the ability to visualize your progress to be crucial for success.
Once you experience great results from setting and reaching that first modest goal, Donnelly predicts you’ll incorporate goal-setting into every area of your life, with your objectives becoming ever more ambitious.

Face-tox Diary: Day Four – “Are You Okay?”

I didn’t write yesterday, as I was too busy doing things. It’s amazing what you can do when you are not distracted with Facebook crap anymore! I got to play 18 holes of golf… the garden looks great… I actually enjoyed the garden for a change… I’m reading more books…

BUT, I had to write today, as after four days, finally somebody has noticed I’m NOT on Twatbook – sorry, Facebook – anymore. A text arrived this morning shortly after 7am:

“I couldn’t find you on Facebook, are you okay?”

What a lovely text to receive (I just wish they hadn’t sent it so early, as I was fast asleep after a late night reading, and had nothing much to wake up for that early!) I’m probably an unusual Twatbooker, as almost all of my (less then 100) Twatbook friends are actually ‘friends’, people I’ve actually met in person, or are family – hence so few!

Some I have already personally been in contact with, but it was rather surprising that after four days only ONE person had noticed that I was no longer online. I wonder how many of you that have waaaaayyyy more ‘Twatbook Friends’ (most of which you don’t actually know) than me realise that the vast majority of your ‘Friends’ have probably ‘muted’ your feed, or don’t take any notice of you, or have so much Twatbook-misinformation coming at them that they don’t really care what the crap is happening in your life?

I can definitely say detoxing from Twatbook is much easier than detoxing from smoking! By day four I would be craving a fag something wicked, and almost wanting to kill somebody! In comparison, Twatbook-detox is very painless and very rewarding. For four days I have not been exposed to stupid, uneducated opinions about the election, what people have been eating, pictures of cats, mindless quotations that say, “Like if you agree” or any other mindless crap that says the same, or, “Read this, it’s AMAZING…!”

Dumb, mindless, Twatbook, pricks!

I’m sure if you are reading this and still a Twatbook member, you’re smart enough to read the humour, and are probably trying to work out how the heck you can get out of the trap that is TWATBOOK…!

My best advice for the election, since it’s tomorrow, is don’t vote. If nobody voted, they’d realise that we all know we don’t live in a democracy, it’s just a farce. They don’t act on our behalf, so why vote for them? They are all elitist snobs, that are educated the same, indoctrinated the same, brown nose the same, and have the same INTERNATIONAL paymasters!

I think Guy Fawkes was on the right trail…

July 4th – International Forgiveness Day…?

NOTE: Many of my regular readers probably won’t like the questions posed or the turns this post will take, but stick with it, keep reading, trust me… You’ll agree with the outcome…

* * *

JULY 4th – American Independence Day – is coming up soon… barely a month away…!

How many people are going to celebrate the day truly conscious of what it is in rememberance of? For most it will merely be a ‘day off’, a time to party and get drunk, a day to feel ‘patriotic’ (whatever that means these days?), a day to sleep in, a day to exercise their ‘freedoms’ (do we really have the same ones anymore? Try testing your Consitutional Rights some day, see how far you get…!) and quite possibly it’s a day for some to still stick two fingers up at the British… more than 2 centuries later.

But how were the ‘freedom fighters’ in Colonial English America back then any different to the ‘extremists’ of ISIS in the Middle East today? There were a few rebels and military personel – trained by the English… using English weapons… dispondent with having doctines imposed on them by outside bodies… non-military supporters joined in because they believed in the ’cause’… Sound familiar…?

International Forgiveness Day

Anyway, I digress… That was not the point of this post – merely an interesting aside – but it will hopefully have proven a point after you finish reading. No different to my puzzlement with non-caucasian friends that are so very pro-ethnic rights, but hate gays… and vice versa… my gay friends that don’t agree with the ‘race-imbalance’.

Which brings me neatly and nicely onto my ‘fun’ idea…

WHAT IF… what if… what if… just for one day – one day out of 365 in an average year – we, as a global nation, decided that we’d have an international day of forgiveness and understanding. Each and every one of us, for one day, forgiving one other person that we believe or perceive has wronged us. Imagine the ripple-out effect that could have…

We’ve all wronged someone at some time or another (whether we were aware of it or not) and we can all certainly remember all those instances where people have wronged us – in fact, many people are stewing over wrong-doings that date back years…! The problem is, they probably have no idea how much they wronged you.

Forgive And Learn From It

I meet so many people that are still harbouring grudges against people years, sometimes DECADES, after the fact. It isn’t healthy, it isn’t right, and it can easily change. Personally, I believe almost all of the wars and civil disputes that are still going on are a direct result of a lack of forgiveness: people and nations trying to settle ‘unfinished business’.

How difficult is it to say, “I forgive you.” and mean it…?

If you’ve ever done it, or been on the receiving end of an honest apology, you’ll know what I mean. If you haven’t, this is your time to shine and grow! If you want to be forgiven, forgive… learn from it… feel how great it is to drop that baggage.

Forgive And Grow…

Think of all those resentments you have built up inside of you, festering away like a cancer – probably willing cancer to come and feed on your stress! Think of things in your childhood that still bug you… the teacher… the bully… the bus driver… the pervert… your parents… FORGIVE THEM…! They are harming you more NOW than they were then… FORGIVE THEM…!

You’ll feel a load lifted for doing it.

If you can’t do it face-to-face, close your eyes, imagine them in front of you, and… FORGIVE THEM…!

Imagine if THAT is what we did on Independence Day… “International Forgiveness Day”

Imagine forgiving and being forgiven…

ONE DAY to put the record straight…

The Big Picture

My blog is only followed by a handful of people, and most of them don’t really read my posts, so I doubt very much will come of this anyway, but imagine… imagine… WHAT IF…what if, a few people that read this decide this is a good idea, it’s good for them and good for others… WHAT IF… July 4th becomes an International Day of Forgiveness…WHAT IF… it doesn’t just stop with one day…?

WHAT IF people want to continue… Every day… Forgiving… Accepting… Loving… Learning… Teaching… Healing…

Ah…! I’m dreaming… We love war… and descrimination… and hatred… and sadness too much… It will never happen…

But…

WHAT IF…?
